Ettore Barnao
Ettore Barnao, originating from Stromboli, born in Palermo in 1939. Engineer, university professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Palermo until 2003 in the field of systems theory and control. For years he has been dedicated to the systematic collection of material on the history of Stromboli. The history of Stromboli, extensively covered in my previous books on Stromboli, is partially presented here, in a concise English version. The book represents an attempt to make a contribution, albeit modest, to the knowledge of the main events of the island, starting from its repopulation, at the beginning of the 18th century, up to the present day; a guide to the discovery of the island and its past. The book is aimed at English-speaking readers to approach the topic with ease. In particular, it may be of some interest for those who have their roots in Stromboli and live in distant lands. They may not speak Italian and may have lost much of the island's historical past.
